The Philippine Association of Speech Pathologists (PASP) had its first National Convention, “BEYOND BORDERS: GLOBAL TRENDS, LOCAL RELEVANCE” on July 23‑24, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura, Taguig, Philippines.

This convention aimed to:
  • Improve the skills of Speech-Language Pathologists practicing in the Philippines by connecting global trends to their current practice
  • Present international and local researches that can help Speech-Language Pathologists develop their clinical reasoning and judgment
  • Increase awareness of Speech-Language Pathology practice in the Philippines
  • Increase appreciation of the role of Speech-Language Pathologists and
  • Increase personal involvement of family members in the intervention process.


Speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, parents, doctors, special educators, regular classroom teachers, psychologists and other professionals were present during the convention.
